With reference to Foreign Office letter to the Colonial

Office No. .6021/31/10 of the 7th September relative to the

establishment of an aeroplane assembly depot in the new

territories, hongkong, and to Colonial üffice letter

No.53846/37 of the 14th October, the Department of Overseas

Trade transmit a copy of a letter from Messrs. liawker

Siddeley Aircraft Company Limited saying that the test pilot

of Messrs. Gloster Aircraft Company will arrive at Hongkong

on the 11th November and requesting that a telegram be sent

to liongkong asking that facilities and advice be given to him.

The Department of Overseas Trade have ascertained from

their Ministry that Mesara. Gloster Aircraft Company have

been informed in the sense of telegram No.227 of the 10th

Üctober from the Officer Administering the Government of

Longkong to the Colonial Office.

3. The Department of Overseas Trade suggest that a telegram

in the sense of the attached draft may be sent by the Foreign

Office to the commercial Secretary at longkong or alternative

ly that it may be sent by the Colonial Office through the

hongkong Government.
